Me: *thinking about Christian memes* What if Jesus had come in 2017 instead of back during Roman times? Would He, instead of using parables, have spoken in memes?
Roommate: I hate you. You aren’t allowed to have any more thoughts about Jesus.
Me: It’s not like its heresy! It isn’t insulting!
Roommate: Yes, it is! Memes are inherently sin, a sign of the Devil’s influence on this fallen world!

Satan: turn these stones into bread

Jesus: bold of you to assume that man can live on bread alone

a fig tree out of season: *no figs*

jesus: then perish

Ok but from a purely theological standpoint, based on the way Jesus communicated (he talked in ways that would be understandable to at least some extent by the general public, and had a lot of respect for children)…

Theologically speaking, Jesus would almost certainly have spoken in memes.

“Whenever you crack open a cold one with the boys in my name, there I be in your midst”

“Some of you have sinned too much to cast the first stone, and it shows”

lol

He really did go off on that cross so our sins would be cancelled.

We all know what would yappen when he was asked if he wad King of the Jews.

Because it might get confused.

Pilate: are you the King of the Jews.

Hating all elves is racist too

You’re right I hate them as a species. It’s like hating cats or dogs or fish because they are animals. But you prefer light skin elves over EOC (Elves Of Color) and that’s not okay.

You’re all dead to me all elves are valid

I’m running a pre-bought campaign in a sci-fi setting

Totally not-shady NPC: I’ll need you to retrieve my secret cargo from the abandoned spaceship, but it’s very private, so don’t look inside–

Player: Is it a girl in a box?

NPC: …What?

Player: This is a sci-fi story, and there’s a box you don’t want us to look into. There’s only ever one way that ends, and it’s always with a girl stuffed into a box.

Other Player: Hey, we don’t even know how big it is. It could just be a cigar box.

First Player: Okay, you’re right. It could be a bunch of sex toys. How big is the box?

NPC: It’s… uh… six feet long by three feet wide by three feet deep…

First Player: Ugh. Okay, fine. Somebody pack a crowbar and a spare set of women’s clothing. We need to go get this girl out of her box.

image

uhhhhhhh…….

One day I’m going to run a sci-fi campaign of some kind and there will inevitably be a girl-sized box that the players are not allowed to open

And when they open it instead of a girl there will be 12 possums that immediately escape and create possum-related mischief until they can be put back in the box.

“One of my favourite Steve Jobs stories was the time the engineers working on the iPod brought their finished prototype to him in his office. He said it was too big, they needed to make it smaller. They said it was as small as they could make it, it couldn’t be made any smaller. So he took the prototype over to his aquarium and dropped it in. The iPod sank to the bottom, and as it did, tiny little bubbles came out. ‘See those bubbles,’ he asked. ‘They’re air inside the iPod. Make it smaller.’

“Another story about Steve Jobs was when they brought the prototype for the iPad 2 to his office. The engineers told him it was faster than the first iPad. He took it over to his aquarium and dropped it in. ‘Look how slowly it sank,’ he told them. ‘Make it faster.’

“One time a newly hired intern had been sent out to get Steve a sandwich. When she brought it to him, he looked at it. ‘I thought I ordered the beef on rye,’ he asked. She told him it was indeed beef on rye. He took it over to his fish tank and dropped it in. ‘Does that look like beef on rye?’

“He was always dropping things in that fish tank. We couldn’t stop him. We told him he had to stop, he wouldn’t listen. It was full of stuff that shouldn’t be in an aquarium.

“The fish had all died years ago. One had been crushed under an early generation iMac. The others were all poisoned. He didn’t care.

“It got to the point where there was no room for anything in the fish tank. When we emptied it after he died, we found a body in there. We never found out who it was.”

i think one Blake’s greatest strengths is her capacity to care for other people. Despite her reticence initially, it wasn’t long before she became very close with yang and with the other members of her team.

Now that we can infer some things about Adam, it’s easy to see how she was radicalized against humans and that he was the one to do it. She saw what humans did to him and it made her angry. She cared about him and he was hurt, badly. Of course she would want to take bigger steps - bigger risks - to stop humans from treating the faunus like second class citizens.

Blake is also, despite her own words, very brave. She left a volatile situation and she probably knew that Adam would eventually come after her. Of course when he did, she wasn’t prepared at all and someone got hurt. Again. But she’s not running now. That takes incredible courage and I’m so proud of her.

In conclusion, I love Blake Belladonna.

I don't think the timeline quite matches up for Cinder and Neo to make a surprise appearance in Argus. Cinder showed up in Malachite's town a month after Haven, then waited a week for intel. So by the time she teams up with Neo, they're already like 3 weeks ahead of RWBY & co leaving Mistral. And its only been about 3 or 4 days since the train crash. So unless that train took ridiculously long or they waited a week or two before this theft plan, I don't think it's feasible for Cinder to show up.

alexkablob Answer:

If you think that A: they didn’t spend a week or two planning and preparing for this heist or that B: it would make narrative sense for Cinder and Neo not to come up again by the end of the season, I don’t know what to say. And also:

Neo is already here.

Analyzing this picture from the opening and what it could possibly foreshadow

miki-chan13:

If any of you have seen my review for chapter 11 of Volume 6, you know of my theory that QRWBY and the others will get to Atlas because they were arrested for stealing the airship and for inciting panic (and possibly attracting sea-grimm)

And for the past five openings, the ending shot has shown Team RWBY together in various poses, with the third opening showing how Ruby still had hope while the others didn’t, the fourth showing the girls split up with their backs to us, and then the fifth that showed them finally reunited.

But in this picture here, the cast is clearly divided up with Weiss and Ruby taking the bulk of the screen.

So… I do believe that the cast is going to be split up: one side of the characters will be captured, arrested and sent to Atlas to stand trial for the battle in Argus while the rest escape and go rogue.

As for which side… my biggest bet is on Ruby, Jaune and Blake being arrested with Weiss+ Oscar/Ozpin is taken into protective custody while Yang, Qrow, Maria, Ren and Nora escape custody.

One main reason being for this is because Jaune was technically the mastermind- with a crime of forging/fraud already under his belt- with Ruby backing him up and Blake already has history with the White Fang. While Yang was shown to take a pot-shot during a tournament, most are more focused on the Fall of Beacon. Qrow is a hunstman closely associated with Ironwood+ Ozpin and still technically on the same side, Ren and Nora would be seen as guilty by association since they were following their leader. As for Maria… she’s made it very clear she takes no one’s shit and everyone sees her as a defenseless old lady. So while they would be jailed, Jaune, Ruby and Blake would be put under heavier guard and this would give the others a chance to escape. That, or they all try to escape and some get left behind. (It’d be interesting to see how Yang would react to having technically abandon someone rather than someone abandoning her, especially her little sister, friends, the kid she’s trying protect+ the wizard in his head and her partner/ love interest.)

Weiss would be taken back to Atlas immediately without RWBY by her side, considering that she ran away from home. Meanwhile, Oscar/Ozpin would be placed under protection by Ironwood, as he has been shown in Volume 4 to be doing everything in his power to keep things under control and for Ozpin’s sake.

The other main reason for this is because Ruby was mentioned to be going through a breakdown at the end of the volume, and what better catalyst than being arrested as a criminal for putting people in danger and stealing from their allies? If she was willing to do this… what makes her different than the enemies she fights save for her actions? Regardless of how pure they were, they still caused panic and pain.

It would be the ultimate blow to her to see something she did cause without thinking and just going in, and make her re-evaluate herself greatly.

Anonymous asked:

I’m a little confused by Arryn’s comments about how they talked through their stuff & everything is good. I mean Blake saying that we’ll protect each other is great but I feel theres more to it than that. I want yang to talk to Blake about what she talked to weiss about.

honeyby Answer:

I think it’s important to remember that they both already have context for why the other person feels the way they do, even if they haven’t really known how to talk specifically about Blake leaving. Blake knows Yang’s past and her issues with abandonment (there’s a big reason she said she hoped her team hated her for leaving plus we have her reaction before Yang accepts her back) and after her conversation with Weiss Yang is able to recognize that Blake left because she blamed herself for what happened. Between that and her little interaction with Adam I think it’s reasonable to say Yang thinks/knows Blake leaving was at least in part to protect her, which brings us to the barn.

Yang and Blake are starting to make progress; they’re actually talking about that night and resolving to stand together against him! …until Blake says those three little words. Yang’s strong negative reaction to it is a big part of why I believe she’s realized Blake left to protect her, because she associates Blake protecting her with Blake leaving (also with Blake blaming herself which by extension also lead to Blake leaving). Yang wants their relationship to be mutual, because when one of them tries to be the main protector bad things happen.

So when we look at Blake’s mini speech there’s a lot more being said than just those three lines. “She’s not protecting me” is an acknowledgment of what we’ve seen from Yang these past two volumes. I talked a lot about “How can I be there for her if she won’t let me” last volume because it did such an amazing job of showing us how Yang wants both to be there for Blake and for Blake to be there for her. She wants them to support each other through difficult times and that’s beautiful! Her entrance to the Adam fight adds on to this because she fights Adam not to protect Blake but to give her a chance to catch her breath so they can do it together. Blake’s first line is her recognition of this.

“And I’m not protecting her” is first and foremost an apology. She knows she messed up in the barn and this is her way of showing Yang she learned from the mistake. She’s realized that when it’s her protecting Yang or Yang protecting her that someone will still get hurt. It’s also a culmination of Blake’s development the past three volumes, going from “maybe some people are better off alone” to proudly saying “I’m not alone”. She’s no longer leaving her friends in order to protect them, she’s letting them in so they can support each other.

“We’re protecting each other” is just a beautiful conclusion to all of it. She’s recognized her mistakes and realized that together she and Yang are stronger than when they’re apart. She’s sharing Yang’s view on what their relationship should be: the two of them being there for each other no matter what the obstacle. They can watch each other’s backs and trust that if they need the other person they’ll be there too. There’s no more running away and Yang sees that. She was hurt by Blake leaving but Blake’s made it clear time and time again that she isn’t going anywhere, that she’s staying and that she and Yang are in this together.

YMMV but I feel like they know each other well enough that a talk about the same things Yang told Weiss (or even just a big talk about Blake leaving in general) just isn’t necessary at this point; they’re able to pick up on the implications of each other’s words and actions, and some of those speak louder than a direct conversation might.
